Students need to be cleared to participate BEFORE the first official day of practice. After the online packet is completed, you will receive an email confirmation. Your student is not cleared to practice until that email confirmation is sent. Please note that physicals must be dated after June 15th of the upcoming school year.

PHS Football makes every effort to provide physicals with our team doctor for those who need them. Dates TBD.

Players are provided with practice and game day uniforms, required equipment, including pads, helmet and a Guardian Cap to be worn during all practices. Players are responsible for providing their own 7-pad football girdles, cleats, water bottles, mouth guards, and off season training gear.

Players will receive complimentary team gear /player packs during the season, including Egg Bowl T Shirts. Team Sweatshirts will be available for purchase. 

Petaluma High School requires students to maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA and pass at least 20 credits (4 classes) per grading period to be academically eligible for participation in athletics. For the 2026 football season, rising 10th, 11th and 12th grade eligibility is determined by the final grading period of the 2025-2026 school year. For incoming 9th graders, your final grading period of 8th grade is not used to determine your academic eligibility - this will be determined at the completion of the first progress report grading period at Petaluma High School.
